Meet the Curatorial Team:

Laura Rognoni: Her object of expertise was the The Yates Memorial, and she focused on drawing links between sacrifice and materiality through the use of a timeline. She was also involved in the navigational aspects of the website and links to religion.

Louis Kopp: His object of focus was the Finger and Tendon specimen, and he was involved in the branches of medicine and religion.

Jessica Thorpe: Her object of focus was the head of a stone statuette, and she was interested in its materiality and relationship to religion.  She also contributed to some curatorial aspects such as the colour theme.

Yasmin Jiang: Her object of focus was the specimen of a parasite, and she focused on the theme of sacrifice and medicine. She was involved in the design of the exhibition, especially in creating the interactive tabs.

Emily Gulliksen Craste: Her object of focus is the ‘Confessio Amantis’ Manuscript Fragment, and its link to materiality and religion. She was especially focused on drawing conclusions and connections to the idea of “virtual sacrifice”.

Acknowledgments

This exhibition would not exist without the amazing help, time and guidance offered to us by the  UCL ‘Object Lessons: Communicating Knowledge Through Collections’ staff starting with Thomas Kador. We have been given great help from curators  across UCL, including:  Subhadra Das (from the Pathology Museum), Anna Garnett (from the Petrie Museum), Andrea Fredericksen (from the Art Museum), Tannis Davidson (Grant Museum), Victoria Rea and Tabitha Tucket (both from the UCL special collections).
