ANTH0060 PG: Primate Behaviour and Ecology 24/25

This is the class blog for your portfolios built around designing and writing (parts of) a Project Proposal in primatology.

The aim of the Project Proposal is to give you skills in (1) synthesising the scientific literature; (2) identifying gaps in the literature; (3) identifying questions to address the gaps in the literature; (4) designing a protocol to answer a research question; (5) estimating a budget for conducting research; and (6) providing and incorporating constructive feedback. All of this will contribute to developing your critical thinking skills.

To learn more about how to use this platform you can take a self-paced course online here to learn how to use this.

You are required to have a minimum of four pages on your Reflect blog:

  • Annotated bibliography page. This page will list the important papers that you read when designing your project. Follow the suggested topics to organise your bibliography.
  • Journal on feedback page. This page will journal reflections on your feedback. This is free to you how to design, but we ask that you use headings to ensure it is easy for a marker to follow.
  • Project methodology page. This page explains in no more than 750 words the methodology of your project. This must be written to a satisfactory level.
  • Project budget page. This page will list your project budget and justification.

There are templates available for each of these pages in the relevant titled section on the right side, but you can use a format that works for you as long as it is readable and accessible.
