a. What is the file name extension for an AutoSuggest Dictionary?
->.bmp
PDF 1, section 5-4, page 30
b. What is a context match?
-> PDF 2, section 3-7, page 18
A context match is better than a 100% match. To be a context match, the translation memory segment must be a 100% match for the document segment and the two segments must have the same document context. For the document segment and the translation memory segment to have the same context, they must both have been preceded by the same segment.
c. What is a perfect match?
-> PDF Part 2 p.43
PM matches are considered highly reliable (even more reliable than context matches), as PerfectMatch takes the context of a segment into consideration even more than CM matches.
Also on Part 2, p.48
Perfect Matches are considered highly reliable translation suggestions, as they fit the current context.
d. Is it possible to perform a concordance search on words or expressions in
the target language?
-> PDF 1, p.44
The concordance search can also be carried out in the target language. To do this select a string in the target language and press F3.
e. What does the 5th column in the Translation Editor show?
-> PDF Part 1, p32
The fifth column shows the document structure information. Here, you can see whether a segment is e.g. a heading, a footnote, normal paragraph text. For example, the first segment is a heading which is indicated by letter H. Move the mouse pointer over the H in this cell. This will display a tooltip with the full description, i.e. Heading. Move the mouse pointer over one of the cells below, which contain the letter P. This will show a Paragraph tooltip.
