Part 1:
question a
The AutoSuggest Dictionary extension is .bmp (workbook 2, page 81)

question b
SDL TRADOS STUDIO GETTING STARTED PART 2 (page3-7)
A context match is better than a 100% match. To be a context match, the translation memory segment must be a 100% match for the document segment and the two segments must have the same document context. For the document segment and the translation memory segment to have the same context, they must both have been preceded by the same segment.

question c
page 4-5 in workbook 2
PerfectMatch provides more reliability than standard 100% matches by matching against previously translated bilingual documents rather than TMs (Andy, pp.114). PM matches are considered highly reliable (even more reliable than context matches), as PerfectMatch takes the context of a segment into consideration even more than CM matches. For this reason, they are often locked, i.e. they usually are not supposed to be edited (workbook 4-5).

question d: Is it possible to perform a concordance search on words or expressions in the target language?
Yes, it is.
SDL TRADOS STUDIO GETTING STARTED PART 1 (page44-45)
The concordance search can also be carried out in the target language. To do this select a string in the
target language and press F3.

question e
SDL TRADOS STUDIO GETTING STARTED PART 1 (page 5-6)
The fifth column shows the document structure information. Here, you can see whether a segment is e.g. a heading, a footnote, normal paragraph text. For example, the first segment is a heading which is indicated by letter H. Move the mouse pointer over the H in this cell. This will display a tooltip with the full description, i.e. Heading. Move the mouse pointer over one of the cells below, which contain the letter P. This will show a Paragraph tooltip.

Part 2:

One possible reason might be that some students think the quality of translation doesn’t really matter in this exercise. They thought the exercise was more about using the software (e.g. tags, project packages, etc.) than producing a high-quality translation.

It also might because source text seems too long and the aim of this task is to familiarize ourselves with the Termbase and project package rather than the quality of translation.

If some people didn’t complete the task, maybe they didn’t fully understand the task or didn’t have time.

Maybe technical problems also count. One personal experience of our group member is that she have completed the translation in SDL Trados Studio but she came across problems creating the project package and she kept receiving error messages from Studio. So she just left the task and focused on something else. And she forgot about it totally…
