An institutional approach to align assessment and learning design

UCL aims to provide end-to-end support for programme teams, from conception through to delivery and review, with a particular focus on assessment. UCL has created a new Programme Development Team to help with this. Our role is to engage with academic teams early on, before official documentation is prepared. This session will show how focused workshops, tools, and organised talks can enhance and align the programme vision, learning outcomes, and assessment.

These changes are already improving submissions and assessment plans. Post-approval, we expect a big impact, too. In recent years, UCL has used the ABC collaborative rapid development method to design modules and their assessment, and this successful approach is being integrated into the whole design process.
