FLS Digital Education updates 06/05/22

  1. Support for students taking centrally managed exams: If students have any questions relating to using AssessmentUCL or experience any Technical difficulties when submitting  their exam, please direct them totheSupport during your assessment web page. Many students are leaving it till very late and missing their submission deadline.  In any comms or revision sessions you have with students taking exams on AssessmentUCL please:
  1. Blackboard Collaborate end of licence: You will have received communication regarding  the end of UCL’s licence with Blackboard collaborate. There will be no access to the Blackboard Collaborate platform or content stored there after the licence expires on 17 May 2022. If you have any content stored on Collaborate that you need access to in the future, please ensure you download it before this date.
  2. Office for Students Blended Learning Review: The Office for Students (OfS) has launched a review of blended learning. To support our engagement with this review alongside UCL initiatives such as the Education Priorities and Programme strategy, UCL would like to invite staff from across the institution to contribute to an informal micro case study evidencing effective examples of blended learning. These can be drawn from any time period, either prior to the pandemic or during it, and should ideally underscore an intervention’s value and impact, highlighting key points such as the benefits to students and staff, effects on pedagogy, examples of practice, and so on. As a guideline, a response should be no longer than 250-300 words and submitted by COP 11th May. For more information and to submit a case study, see the Digital education blog post Office for Students Blended Learning Review.
