This week, both the tip and task relate to Lecturecast.
Tip 11: Record and upload an audio file alongside your PowerPoint into Lecturecast
Our tip this week comes from Hazel Smith, Faculty Tutor.
While most of our teaching spaces are Lecturecast enabled, if you’ve been allocated a room that doesn’t have Lecturecast and cannot use Zoom or Teams to record, you can record the audio of your lecture using a personal device, such as your phone. You can then upload this recording to Lecturecast along with your slides. Once uploaded, students will be able to listen to the audio alongside the uploaded PowerPoint file. See this short 4-minute video on how to do this.
Please also see the File formats that can be uploaded to Lecturecast.
If you would like to edit the audio file once uploaded to Lecturecast, see guidance on how to edit a capture
If you are using a personal device to record audio, please ensure that you only capture your presentation and inform students of the recording.
Task 11: Create direct links to your Lecturecast recording (s).
For each week or topic, it’s best to include a direct link to the relevant recording. This will make it easier for students to find the recording(s) related to the teaching session(s) from that week or for a specific topic.
