Love and Loss

Being patient with my demons

I picked these for you

Drawing has really helped me throughout this past year, and through many quarantines. It is a way for me to explore and release my emotions. As with many people, since the first lockdown in March 2020 I have experienced a lot of change in my life, and I have had to come to terms with loss in various forms. The reality that Covid brings for me has also made me feel very grateful for what I’ve had and what I have. This pair of drawings represents the change in my life and how it has affected me through the love and loss that it has brought with it. They represent the multifaceted nature of change that Covid has brought about.

Beautiful and evocative art! I can definitely relate to channeling emotions through creativity, especially during these times. The drawings really capture the duality of love and loss. Have you considered incorporating a Pokémon theme? The contrast could be striking! I imagine it would be like Pokerogue , mixing intensity and tenderness, or use the Pokerogue Dex as the subject!

These are so good Sophie! They really do help conceptualise the last year, i think you’ve nailed the experience for a lot of people here. This is now what i’m going to imagine my demons look like haha
