Growing up, my memaw always made quilts, and they have always been treasured items in my family. Due to COVID I was stuck in my hometown for 2 months before coming to London. While I was not thrilled with the prospect of living with my parents for that time, it gave me the opportunity to spend time with one of my aunts who taught me how to make quilts. Before coming to London, I pieced this one together so that I would have something to work on during the two week quarantine. This helped keep me sane, and now it serves as a source of comfort and connection to my family.
