As the pandemic continues to limit students live experiences, ophthalmology students have not been able to attend surgery.
So we decided we would try to bring surgery to them (kind of).
Using an existing surgical video (watch at your own peril) created at Moorfields Eye Hospital and H5P we created an interactive video for students to interact with. This proved to be a huge success . So we decided to create a formative assessment of the students understandings of predetermined concepts set by the module lead. An interactive video was made for students to learn how to create their own H5P video.
Students then made their own interactive videos that can be used for years to come and will over time build a large resource of interactive videos for future students.
This was such as success we given a slot at the UCL education conference to discuss the work we had done.
