Hello! My name is Miranda Molloy. I am a current postgraduate student at the University of St Andrews, studying the Marine Mammal Science (MMS) MSc.

This website will contain details about myself and the skills I have acquired in my time in academia.

I studied my undergraduate degree in BSc (Hons) Chemistry at University College London, and served as the Student President (Co-Secretary) of the Chemical and Physical Society (founded in 1876) for two years. I also received two nominations for the 2021 UCL Provost Education Awards, as part of the CPS and as part of the Lab_14 Team (see my Lab_14 blog for more!).

My final year literature project at UCL was named “Microplastics as Physical Stressors and Carriers of Persistent Organic Pollutants – is Cetacean Health an Ideal Indicator?”. This project broadened my mind and introduced me to the field of ecotoxicology in cetaceans. It is my intention to follow this passion, and hence study the MMS MSc to increase my knowledge of marine mammals.
