Comments

What are Comments?

Comments are short messages that allow your readers to interact with your content and give feedback to your posts and pages. Comments extend the conversation allowing your readers to interact with you and each other. Comments are usually used with posts rather than pages, even if they can be activated on both pages and posts. Your comments repository (in the left sidebar of your dashboard) enables you to manage comments left on your pages and posts more easily, by using bulk actions to manage them: looking at comments whose approval is pending, approving them or deleting them.

Let’s start with the basics!

When building your blog, you will normally follow the following steps regarding comments:

  1. Enable and disable comments (open in new tab): use settings to determine which pages and posts you are happy receiving comments on.
  2. Moderate comments (open in new tab): decide which internet users can leave a comment and who cannot.
  3. Manage, edit and approve comments (open in new tab): use the comment repository to do so through individual or bulk actions. Only signed in users and website admins can edit the comments, if you leave one on somebody else’s page, you will need to ask their permission to edit your
  4. Add comments (open in a new tab): start a thread of comments or reply to other users’ comments
