One-day assessment event with Phill Dawson

King’s College Academy and the UCL Digital Assessment team are hosting a one-day interactive event with Professor Phillip (Phill) Dawson.

Phill Dawson is a leading expert in academic integrity, contract cheating and assessment security. He has degrees in education, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity and his two latest books are Defending Assessment Security in a Digital World: Preventing E-Cheating and Supporting Academic Integrity in Higher Education (Routledge, 2021) and Re-imagining University Assessment in a Digital World (Springer, 2020).

Event details

The event to take place on Tuesday 13 June 2023, 10am-4pm will consist of two 90-minute interactive talks given by Phill Dawson, the co-director of the Centre for Research in Assessment and Digital Learning, Deakin University, Australia.

The first talk titled ‘Developing Student Feedback Literacy’ will focus on providing good feedback. The second talk titled ‘Don’t Fear the Robot: Future-authentic Assessment and Generative Artificial Intelligence’ will focus on academic integrity.

Registration with tea and coffee will be at 10am followed by Phill’s first talk, a break for a networking lunch, the second 90-minute talk before closing remarks. A full programme will be shared via email with registered attendees.

This event has been organised by King’s Academy (King’s College London’s centre for educational development) and University College London’s Digital Assessment team. This event is free to attend and open to all colleagues across the Higher Education sector.
