QAA conference: Redesigning assessments for a world with artificial intelligence

Yesterday I attended the QAA online Annual Conference 2023 – The Future of Quality: What’s Next? I was co-presenting along with Professor Michael Grove, Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education Policy and Standards), University of Birmingham in a session entitled ‘Redesigning assessments for a world with artificial intelligence’ chaired by Eve Alcock, Head of Public Affairs, QAA.

Michael provided a demo of using Chat-GPT in his discipline area of maths and highlighted some of the issues around equity, criticality and academic integrity. My presentation focussed on recent work we have carried out at UCL to develop assessment support resources as part of our new Generative AI hub.
