You have reached the repository of explanations on how to use your UCL Reflect website, how to build it from scratch and model it to the use you wish to make of it.
Please use the menus above to navigate the different components and functionalities you can use. You will be able to go through them in a chronological order if you have never used Reflect or WordPress before. You can also jump to different sections according to the kind of content you are trying to build, but we recommend learning through the order, as each section builds onto extra knowledge from previous sections.
If you find anything confusing or outdated, please visit the following page: https://www.ucl.ac.uk/isd/digital-education-team-information (opens link in a new tab) and our team will fix it as early as possible. What is Reflect?
In a nutshell, Reflect is a tool that enables you to build websites and blogs (check the difference between the two of them here) using a version of WordPress adapted to students and educational purposes, called CampusPress.
Please note that some of the guides from WordPress show additional functionalities which you will not be able to use on Reflect. We have included only the most relevant guides to you in this website, however, if you want to explore more, feel free to use the direct links on the left-hand sidebar to explore more content in WordPress and CampusPress.
UCL Reflect is provided to allow students and staff to use blogging for teaching and learning purposes. Blogs can be used to support students to:
- Reflect on their experiences during study
- Build a portfolio of their work
- Collaborate on subject matter work
- Share their understanding of their discipline beyond UCL
- And much much more…
You can find out more about the service by clicking the About tab above (within Reflect 101), and by visiting the Reflect Blogging Resource Centre, which has guides and FAQs: https://wiki.ucl.ac.uk/display/ReflectBlog

Tips: Play around with the Reflect interface, the more you familiarise yourself with the platform, the more confident you will become. Do not be afraid to explore and test out different things. This guide is there to help you find what you might need faster, but there’s nothing like a bit of exploration on your own.
